Cook discovered MBI while researching office furniture dealers.
“I had a Paoli desk from a used furniture store that I used in an old office of mine, and I began searching for matching pieces,” Cook said. “That’s when I found out that MBI was the dealer for that brand in Memphis so I reached out to them.”
Along with her architect, she worked with MBI consultant Jessica Chamberlain, who alongside MBI designers Sunshine Buffington and Sarah Brock assisted Cook in selecting furniture for her administrative offices, sales offices, break room and showroom.
“We were particularly excited to work with Angela because one of her key goals for the space was collaboration,” noted Brock. “Design plans that enable team members and clients to communicate and innovate are our specialty. We love to create spaces that help people work smarter, and also have that ‘wow’ factor that make the spaces attractive to employees and visitors alike.”
Cook’s extensive traveling schedule during the building’s renovation made for little time to interact with the MBI team in person, but according to Cook, the project still moved along smoothly, even when adjustments were necessary.
“They were so easy to work with,” said Cook. “When we had to make changes midstream that resulted in us moving our deadline back, they were extremely helpful and accommodating throughout the process.”
“We care about our clients, not just about the furniture we sell,” said Buffington. “For Angela’s space, we provided multiple, full-color renderings with furniture and finishes clearly illustrated so that she could visualize and feel comfortable with how the final product would look. Given her travel schedule, this technology proved invaluable when communicating about and finalizing plans for the space.”
Once the furniture installation was complete, MBI’s IT specialist visited the space to ensure all pieces were fully functional for the Grandview Gallery team.
“It was a pleasure working with the team at MBI,” Cook said. “I would absolutely recommend them to others and consider them for future design projects.”
